Passion for Life

Love Life

1,357 days ago (Oct. 18, 2011), we got the devastating news that my Angel had cervical cancer. What a wake-up call that was for us; a wake-up to get out of the dull, boring life we were living, and enjoy life. Now, six cruises and countless other trips and vacations later, life is anything but boring, Our lives are simply amazing. You see, the news that day was supposed to destroy us I know. But, our God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) God gave me a purpose that day; to make sure my Angel enjoys every moment she is here. What that means is, for the rest of our lives, we will live them with passion. To take every opportunity we are given, and get the most this life has to offer. Whether it’s a cruise around the world, or like last night, a ball game and fireworks show, we are simply going to do it with passion, and treat every outing like the blessing from our God that it is.

I pray each of you are able to experience how amazing this life can be. Whatever your passion is, get out there and do it. Like our good friends Jimmy and Lanessa Parker who love going to NASCAR races, or Paul and Samantha King, who are now taking in those beautiful Smokey Mountains. Whatever passion God puts in your heart, DO IT, and do it as often as you can. These are the things that make this life worth living. So, don’t waste a single moment, because every moment wasted is one we will never see again. May we always be mindful of those encouraging words of Jesus in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

From my heart to yours!
